The Utah scholastic ratings system was designed to allow students to monitor their chess development, and to allow tournament directors an easy way to seed players. 

Tournament directors can view the ratings procedure here.

The United States Chess Federation (USCF) also maintains a ratings system for USCF-rated tournaments.  Information about USCF ratings can be found here.

4/7/07 - High School and Jr. High through the state tournament

2/12/06 - Includes Oakwood Elementary Tournament

1/30/06 - Includes Stewart Elementary Tournament

11/26/05 - Includes Logan Scholastic Tournament

11/7/05 - Includes Ogden Scholastic Tournament

Start of Year Ratings - Includes only players active since September 2004, 50 points added to each for change in grade.
